Library

Black River Public School has a shared use agreement with Georgina Public Library to provide students access to the Peter Gzowski (Sutton) Branch, conveniently located on the east side of both school buildings.

During school hours, students may visit during scheduled class book exchanges or with teacher permission. Each student has a dedicated school library account for use during school hours. 

Teacher Access Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 4 PM

Student Access Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9:10 AM – 3:30 PM

Lunch Hour Access 

Students from Black River Public School may also use the library during lunch, provided they have signed parental permission to leave school grounds.

Public Access Library Hours

  • Monday – Closed  
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 10 AM – 9 PM
  • Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM
  • Saturday: 9 AM – 2 PM
  • Sunday: 1 PM – 5 PM  

Library Guidelines

To maintain an open and welcoming environment for all users, the following expectations apply:

  • The Peter Gzowski (Sutton) Branch serves as a shared space for reading, studying, research, group projects, and homework.
  • Respectful behavior is expected toward all visitors, including Georgina Public Library staff and community members.
  • Library spaces are designed for comfort and functionality.
  • Disruptive, abusive, unlawful, or threatening behavior, language, or attire is not permitted.
  • A valid Georgina Public Library card is required to borrow materials or use computer workstations.
